Water main breaks in downtown Norfolk

NORFOLK, Neb. – With temperatures soaring to a scorching 97 degrees, Norfolk residents were looking for creative ways to cool off, and boy, did they get one! In an unexpected twist, the city inadvertently provided a new "aquatic experience" as a water main break forced the closure of Norfolk Avenue between 7th and 8th Streets.

At this time, it is unclear how long the repairs will take. The road closure may extend into the weekend, depending on the severity of the break and repair conditions.

Local drivers are now advised to avoid the area, unless they’re auditioning for a remake of "Singin' in the Rain." The city appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as crews dive into action to restore service and reopen the roadway.
