OMAHA, Neb.—Tuesday through Thursday’s forecasts are raising concerns for flash flooding.

While temperatures will climb back up into the 80s across most of the area this week, the National Weather Service says the overnight hours of Tuesday through Thursday could prove to be dangerous.

The storms moving through the state have the possibility of quarter sized hail and 60 mile per hour wind gusts. Localized flooding is possible with the strongest storms.

Eastern Nebraska will also be experiencing multiple rounds of showers and storms this week. The storms could combine to deliver 1 to 4 inches of rain from Tuesday through Thursday.

Areas, like the metro, are likely to experience repeated thunderstorms and are under the highest threat of flash flooding.

The NWS says the greatest threat for all severe weather will be Tuesday night along and south of I-80, between the hours of 7 p.m. and 2 a.m. Wednesday.

Drier conditions and well above normal temperatures are expected for the upcoming weekend.
