LINCOLN, Neb.-- Dr. Brian Maher, Nebraska’s current Commissioner of Education and a lifelong educator, announced today his candidacy for the University of Nebraska Board of Regents representing District 1.

A first-generation college graduate, Maher who has had a 40 year career in education from teacher to Commissioner of Education says he’s running to ensure the next generation of Nebraskans has access to an affordable, high quality education and the opportunity to thrive in Nebraska.

Maher is running against up against 29 year-old Brian Comstock who is the CEO of the Lincoln based marketing firm BCom which was started ten years ago.
