Holidays at Hickory changed to two-day event because of weather

On Thursday, December 1, the Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce adjusted weekend plans for forecasted high winds, adapting the Friday night, Dec. 2, event to Friday and Saturday.

Saturday evening proved more acceptable with chilly temperatures but much less wind.

Saturday's festivities included hot chocolate and lighting of the Christmas tree at Hickory Street Square, followed by the parade on Jackson Street.

This year's theme of "Snow Globes" was evident with the number of floats sporting the sponsor's rendition of life-sized snow globe.
