BLOOMFIELD - The path to Lincoln is about to paved and in Class D1 Sub-District 5, chaos took place early.

The #1 seeded Bloomfield Queen Bees took on the #5 seed Creighton Bulldogs, who earned the right to play after beating #4 Neligh-Oakdale in the play-in game on Monday.

The Bee's got off to a quick start, turning over the Bulldogs and scoring transition points to add to the early lead. After a 19-9 first quarter, Bloomfield took the 10-point lead and turned it into a 16-point lead at halftime. Haley Eisenhower and Kennedy Mlady were big parts of the Bee's first half, scoring 15 and 13 points respectively.

Alexander continued to shine for Plainview, leading the Pirates into multiple scoring opportunities. As the halftime clock was winding down, Alexander banked in a three-pointer to extend the Pirate lead to 8 points.

Plainview stayed out in front int he third quarter, extending the lead to 11 points and did a great job at getting the entire rotation involved.

After trailing by double-digits, EPPJ battled back to cut the lead to just 5 points at the end of the third quarter. The Wolfpack weren't having their normal shot-making success on the interior, but still had a chance to pull it out late.

Kara Lingenfelter nailed four-straight free throws in the final 90 seconds to help Plainview escape with the major upset win, beating EPPJ 55-48.

Plainview's record improves to 8-15 and gets a chance at Bloomfield in the Sub-District Final. Pressley Alexander lead the team with 19-points, plus a 9-point outing from Peighton Arlt and 8-points added by Kara Lingenfelter.

EEPJ is most likely eliminated from wildcard contention due to their Power Points rank, which would end their season with an 18-6 record. Braelyn Martinson and Madelyn Kurpgeweit scored 15-points each for the Wolfpack.

The #1 Bloomfield Queen Bees and #3 Plainview Pirates will match up on Thursday night at 6:00 PM in Bloomfield for a trip to a District Final on the line. The matchup will be broadcast on 94 Rock FM (94.7).
