Scam Awareness Seminar planned for March 14

SIDNEY – A “Scam Awareness Seminar” will be held 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at the Sidney Elks Lodge. 

The seminar will help people to know what legitimate communication is and what may be an attempt to access personal information. 

Speakers at the event include Cheyenne County Chamber Director Joe McCarn, Brandie Bulen with Highline Internet and Charles Ludlow with Quit IT Solutions, LLC.  

McCarn has a history in the tech industry and brings a wealth of hands-on experience to the fight against fraud. He has spent decades identifying technical vulnerabilities and implementing security policies for businesses.  

Bulen has helped families stay connected in an increasingly digital world for more than six years. She is a former manager of the Verizon store in Sidney and continues to help with tech problems with Verizon, T-Mobile and AT & T. She believes informed communities are empowered communities. 

Ludlow is the founder of Quit IT Solutions, LLC in Sidney. He has been working in the IT industry for more than seven years. His degree is in Cyber Security.
