NORFOLK - Battle Creek and Pierce will meet in the C1-7 Subdistrict title game after the Braves staved off Boone Central-Newman Grove 57-54, and the Jays dispatched Norfolk Catholic 58-42 Tuesday night.

Battle Creek built a 13-point 4th-quarter lead, then held off a furious late-game rush by the Cardinals, partially blocking a potential game-tying shot by Ryan Kramer at the buzzer.  Payton Frederick and Luke Stueve led the way for the Braves, finishing with 18 and 15 points respectively.

Pierce shook off an early-game scoring drought, pulled away in the 2nd quarter, and never looked back, thanks in large to a huge game from Dawson Watts -- 33 points on the night, including 17 of 18 from the free-throw line.

The Jays and Braves tangle for the subdistrict title Thursday...coverage begins at 6:45 on The New 94 Rock
