Norfolk man arrested following Tuesday shooting

Police say the shooting was the culmination of multiple incidents Tuesday evening.

NORFOLK - A Norfolk man is in jail after a string of incidents that culminated in a man getting shot in the leg.

Police say 42-year old Adam Mittelstaedt was arrested Tuesday evening.

Police say they were called to a home on the 500-block of S. 8th St. after a man was shot in the leg.

Adam MittelstaedtOfficers say it all started earlier in the evening when the victim said Mittelstaedt walked into the victim's residence unannounced and assaulted the victim in the shower while he was holding his child. Both the victim and his child were struck.

Later, police say the victim went to Mittelstaedt's residence where a fight broke out. According to police, a woman at the scene shot the victim in the leg with a pistol.

Police say the gun used had been reported stolen last October.

Mittelstaedt was arrested on multiple charges. There was no indication that the alleged shooter was taken into custody.
