NORFOLK - Dozens came together in Norfolk to show solidarity for the Black Lives Matter movement and to protest the death of George Floyd and the fatal shooting James Scurlock in Omaha.

For the second time in a week, Norfolk-area residents gathered at the intersection of 13th and Norfolk Avenue carrying signs to spread a message of support for the Black Lives Matter movement.

More specifically, the group was focused on calling for justice in the shooting death of 22-year-old James Scurlock in Omaha on May 30th.

Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine announced Wednesday that he’ll petition the court to call a grand jury to determine whether Omaha bar owner Jake Gardner should face felony charges in connection with the death of Scurlock.
