NORFOLK - An organization that supports Norfolk-area families is finding another way to give back to the community.

Melissa West and Allison Uecker founded the Briggs and Barrett Project after the loss of their children to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

Last year the project began the Baby Crashers program, in which a nominated family would be surprised with parenting essentials like diapers and an Owlet baby monitor.

Now, the Briggs and Barrett Project, along with Premier Marketing and Raising Canes helped sponsor a diaper drive for future recipients of the Baby Crashers program.

Uecker says the diaper drive means so much for her and the organization.

"It's almost emotional to know how much people support our the project and our cause in honor of our boys," says Uecker.

The drive, which ends Saturday, has raised a total of around $4,000 to purchase the diapers.
