BEEMER - On a night that can only be described as "football weather", Lutheran High Northeast shook off the chill and dampness, then shook off a resilient Guardian Angels Central Catholic squad, in an exhilarating 44-36 win.

The Eagles (3-0) continued their winning ways, thanks in large part to #13, QB Hayden Beaudette (212 total yards), who accounted for all the Lutheran High scoring. Beaudette tossed three scoring passes, to go along with three TDs on the ground, including the game-winner, midway through the 4th quarter.

LHNE jumped out to a two-touchdown lead early, but the Blue Jays bounced back with big plays from Cody Steffen, who scored twice from 43 and 55 yards out, to make it 16-14 in the 2nd quarter.

Eli Knapp had another big night, spelling Beaudette and taking over a dozen direct snaps for nearly 100 yards.

The Eagles padded their lead back to two touchdowns in the 3rd period, but GACC would not go quietly into the night. A coffin-corner punt, followed by a safety sack on Beaudette, turned the tide for the Blue Jays. Two scoring passes from Coy Kreikemeier, to Steffen and Jaryn Smeal, and GACC had their first lead of the game early in the 4th.

But it was Beaudette's night. A 27-yard TD dash, that included a wicked stiff-arm, put Lutheran High back in front, and a 4th-down 24-yard scoring toss to a wide-open Cort McKeown sealed the deal.

The Eagles (3-0) are back home against Wakefield next Saturday, while the Blue Jays (1-2) head to Madison on Friday.
