Norfolk business raises over $4K for disabled veterans
NORFOLK, Neb. -- A local in-home and assistance company in Norfolk recently raised over $4,000 in a fundraised for Disabled American Veterans.
Right at Home said they wanted to have the fundraiser to do all they can to help out veterans, especially the ones who need assistance in their homes.
The in-home and assistance company told News Channel Nebraska that it only took them about three hours to raise the money. Officials also say over 60 businesses across the area supported the cause.
Right at Home co-owner Jeremy Starkel, along with his wife Kristin Starkel, said they wanted to thank all of the people around the area who made the fundraiser happen.
"One thing I really wanted to say in our community in Norfolk is it was pretty outstanding to see the response from local businesses that actually chimed in and donated, either things for us to raffle off or for silent auction," Jeremy Starkel said. "It was because of that generosity that really helped us raise the money."
