NORFOLK -- Police in northeast Nebraska responded to an injury accident Monday morning.

Monday just before 9 a.m. Norfolk Police and Norfolk Fire & Rescue were called to an injury accident at the intersection of east Norfolk Avenue and Hickory Street.

Police say a Subaru driven by, 32-year-old, Michelle Salter of Council Bluffs was heading westbound on Norfolk Ave. and attempted to make a left turn onto South Hickory.

Officials say as the vehicle was turning, an eastbound Dodge Caravan collided with the passenger side of the Subaru. This caused the Subaru to flip onto its side.

Police say the Dodge Caravan continued southeast and struck a row of trailers that were parked in front of a business.

Norfolk Police Division says that both vehicles are considered totaled and there was approximately $7,000 in damage to the parked trailers.

Police say the driver of the Dodge was transported to Faith Regional Hospital by Norfolk Rescue.

The driver of the Subaru Salter was cited for failure to yield.
