NORFOLK, Neb. -- A 43-year-old northeast Nebraska man who was arrested Tuesday morning now faces additional charges after a discovery made by police.

Norfolk Police arrested Robert A. Laney shortly after 8:00 a.m. on a burglary warrant out of Missouri. Later in the day, Laney asked that an officer contact a person to bring Laney's suitcase and other property to the police station so that Laney could have his property with him, according to a press release issued by the Norfolk Police Division.

The officer made the contact and Laney's property was delivered to the police station. During an inventory search of Laney's property, officers reportedly located a glass methamphetamine pipe in Laney's suitcase.

Officers field tested the substance in the pipe. The test was positive for methamphetamine, according to the press release.

Along with the Missouri warrant, Laney was also booked into the Norfolk Jail for possession of a controlled substance. Laney was later transported to the Madison County Jail.
