NORFOLK, Neb. – Norfolk Police made two assault-related arrests over the weekend.

On Saturday, officers were called to an apartment in the 1300 block of E. Grove Avenue for a disturbance between and man and a woman.

When officers arrived, they met the man leaving the apartment and identified him as Tyson A. Hanson, 21, of Norfolk.

Officers also spoke to the woman who was inside the apartment. She stated that she and Hanson had been out earlier that night and started to have a verbal argument so they decided to go home.

Once back at the apartment, Hanson began yelling at her and calling her names, she reported. According to NPD, the woman gathered her things to leave and began walking toward the door when Hanson prevented her from leaving and threw her to the ground. She was then able to get into another room and call the police.

Hanson was also questioned about the events and then was arrested for first degree false imprisonment and third degree domestic assault.

An unrelated assault arrest had been reported a day prior. The Friday arrest was connected to two separate incidents.

On December 1, Norfolk Police were called to a residence in the 500 block of Roland for an assault report. A woman reported that she had been assaulted by Kelly Red Tomahawk at her apartment in the 900 block of Syracuse Avenue.

The woman explained that Red Tomahawk had been drinking and began getting aggressive toward her. When she decided to leave, she said, Red Tomahawk grabbed her and pushed her down. She wanted to call the police, but Red Tomahawk smashed her phone and threatened her that she should not contact the police, according to NPD. Officers were not able to locate Tomahawk that day.

On Friday morning, Norfolk Police were called to the same apartment on another disturbance call. Officers arrived and located Red Tomahawk. He was arrested for first degree false imprisonment, third degree domestic assault, and two outstanding arrest warrants.
