NPD arrests man with multiple warrants, discovers brass knuckles
Norfolk Police arrested a 28-year-old homeless man for active warrants, among other charges, on Monday.
NORFOLK, Neb. -- Norfolk Police arrested a 28-year-old homeless man for active warrants, among other charges, on Monday.
At 4:34 p.m., NPD was called to Norfolk Avenue to serve an active arrest warrant. A Nebraska State Probation officer had seen the suspect in the area and knew that he had active arrest warrants, according to Capt. Michael Bauer.
Officers located the man walking on Koenigstein. When the man saw the officers, he reportedly ran from them.
Officers followed until the man stopped at 11th and Prospect. Bauer says the man placed his right hand underneath his coat and told the officers not to come close to him.
NPD says the man refused to display his hands and resisted as officers were trying to
handcuff him. After handcuffed, he was searched and a pair of brass knuckles were found in his pocket, according to an NPD press release.
The man was arrested on four outstanding arrest warrants, obstructing a police officer, resisting arrest and possession of a concealed weapon.
He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail
