BEEMER, Neb. -- A Blair man has been arrested on theft and felony weapon charges in northeast Nebraska.
Beemer Police Chief Jeremy Goeken says that his department responded to a reported theft early Wednesday morning at a Beemer business.
Shortly after the initial call, Goeken said, the West Point Police Department spotted a truck and trailer with cargo matching the description of the stolen items. West Point PD then detained the driver and a passenger. The passenger was later released pending charges from the Cuming County Attorney's Office.
The driver, 35-year-old Ryan M. Wester of Blair, was arrested on theft, trespassing and possession of stolen property charges.
A subsequent search revealed Webster to be a convicted felon carrying a concealed weapon, according to Goeken.
In addition to the initial theft and stolen property charges, Webster was booked for being a prohibited person carrying a concealed weapon. Webster was transported to the Thurston County Jail by the Cuming County Sheriff’s Office, and booked on a court ordered $50,000 10% bond.
