Osborne endorses Flood for Congress

Former U.S. Congressman and University of Nebraska football coach Tom Osborne announced his endorsement of State Sen. Mike Flood in the race for Nebraska’s first-district congressional seat.

NORFOLK, Neb. – Former U.S. Congressman and University of Nebraska football coach Tom Osborne announced his endorsement of State Sen. Mike Flood in the race for Nebraska’s first-district congressional seat.

“Mike Flood is an excellent member of the Legislature and was very effective as speaker,” Osborne said. “I believe that he would take those same skills to Washington.”

Osborne briefly served in Congress with Rep. Jeff Fortenberry, Flood's opponent in the Republican primary.

“Tom Osborne has had a tremendous impact not only on our state, but on every life he’s touched,” Flood said. “I’m honored to have his support.”
