Firefighters battle fire in field north of Hadar

HADAR, Neb. -- Multiple authorities responded to a fire in a Pierce County field on Friday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to the scene north of Hadar near Highway 81 at approximately 3:00 p.m.

By 4:00 p.m., the fire was largely contained, though some smoke could still be seen from the highway.

There is no official word on any potential damage or the cause of the fire.
