NORFOLK, Neb. – Aspiring Nebraskan writers are getting their chance to shine.

The Norfolk Community Theatre officially announced Monday that it is accepting submissions for its first ever Nebraska Playwright Showcase.

The featured plays will be chosen by a selection committee. Scripts and contact information should be emailed to [email protected] no later than 11:59pm on June 30th.

According to Norfolk Community Theatre Board President Libby McKay, the theatre's intent is to produce approximately three one-act plays as the Spring 2023 regular season show at Northeast Community College. McKay said the final number of one acts may vary based on length of the combined showcase.

Works must never have been performed on stage in front of an audience prior to entry. NCT will pay royalties for NCT performances, and playwrights will retain rights to their work.

For more information on the rules and guidelines, as well as entry information, visit the Norfolk Community Theatre's website.
