Dry, windy conditions spark fire in Norfolk

Firefighters quickly put out a fire near the Sears Hometown building in Norfolk on Tuesday.

NORFOLK, Neb. -- Firefighters quickly put out a fire near the Sears Hometown building in Norfolk on Tuesday.

The Norfolk Fire Division was called to the scene at approximately 2:00 p.m., putting out the fire in less than 30 minutes.

Officials on the scene said that the fire was the result of blustery winds and dry conditions.

Norfolk Fire Division officials noted that a burn ban remains in effect and that no open burns are currently allowed.
