One party's frontrunner will head to bed with a clear nomination, while another ends the night with a slim lead in the race for Nebraska's third-district congressional seat.

Rep. Adrian Smith, who has held the seat since winning his first congressional election in 2006, claimed a clear victory over Mike Calhoun in the Republican primary. The incumbent notched a 76%-24% win over the challenger.

David Else ends the night with a 763-vote edge over Daniel Wik in the Democratic primary, with all but four precincts reporting.
