GoFundMe started in Lantz Family's honor following tragic accident
WISNER, Neb. -- A northeast Nebraska woman's family is mourning her loss following a tragic accident on May 14th.
38-year-old Tara Lantz and her husband were involved in a two-vehicle accident that killed her and injured her husband, Curt Lantz Jr.
Since the accident authorities have identified and arrested the man that was in the other vehicle, Jacob Kenney of Omaha.
A GoFundMe was created on May 18th by Nate Raabe, to raise money for the Lantz family.
GoFundMe said that Lantz was the operator of Lantz Steakhouse and that Curt, Lantz's husband, has since been released from the hospital. They said, "The couple was on their way home from prepping food for their daughter's graduation."
Raabe told GoFundMe, "They have operated Lantz Steakhouse in Wisner and were highly familiar faces on the youth wrestling circuit in the Midwest. In addition, they have always donated to other's causes and been willing volunteers, as shown by the event for Vietnam Vets Tara helped organize a couple of years ago."
GoFundMe said, "Raabe started a GoFundMe to help Tara's family recover, mourn, and get through this extraordinary time without her. In just a few hours nearly $2,000 has been raised."
At the time of this article, the page had earned about $6,100 for the family.
Kenney was arrested for multiple charges and has since been held in Madison County Jail.
The accident is still under investigation.
