NORFOLK, Neb. -- A group of motorcyclists rode their way through Norfolk Friday for a cause some might not expect - children's mental health.
The 15th Annual Pony Express Ride stopped at Ta-Ha-Zouka Park in Norfolk for a meal with the parent-to-parent network.
The route began in western Nebraska and will make its way across the state stopping at daycares and family support centers.
Rider Bill Primrose said the children make the ride worth it.
"Every place we go is running into the kids, meeting different kids and seeing how they're doing and communicating with them to see what their issues are so we can carry their issues on to the people that we know should be doing something about it," Primrose said.
Along the way, the riders pick-up letters written by children about family situations and mental health concerns address to Governor Pete Ricketts.
Their trip ends Saturday at the Nebraska State Capitol building in Lincoln.
