Woman arrested for alleged strangulation in Norfolk

A 33-year-old woman is in custody after a reported strangulation in northeast Nebraska last week.

NORFOLK, Neb. -- A 33-year-old woman is in custody after a reported strangulation in northeast Nebraska on Friday morning.

Just before noon on Friday, a woman reported to Norfolk Police that she had been strangled by a 33-year-old homeless woman while at a residence in the 900 block of Park Avenue.

NPD noted seeing visible marks on the neck of the reported victim, while also stating that the incident was captured on surveillance video.

Officers made contact with the suspect, identified by NPD as Kimberly Doyle, and arrested her. During the arrest, she reportedly resisted, assaulted multiple officers and damaged police equipment. She now faces additional charges of obstructing a peace officers, third-degree assault on an officer, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest.

She was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
