WAKEFIELD, Neb. -- A theatre in northeast Nebraska is putting on a drama camp starting next week.

The Little Red Hen Theatre in Wakefield is holding its 4th annual drama camp beginning next Monday and ending next Saturday.

Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in games and acting exercises as well as participate in a theatre production that will be showcased on the last day of camp.

Participants in kindergarten to third grade will put on a show about different fairytales, including The Little Red Hen, while participants in grades four through eight will put on a production of Macbeth.

Organizers say the camp is a great way for the younger generation to put their creative foot forward and gain confidence.

"Over the course of the week, even though they are working towards a performance that they will share with their family and friends, it's really processed based. It is really about giving them tools to express their creativity and work towards something that will inspire confidence," said Adam Goos, the managing director of the Little Red Hen Theatre.

"This is a place where they can come and have fun, be creative, try on different characters and act and tell stories in fun and creative ways," said Scott Mead, a guest artist working with the drama camp.

The camp meets every day next week from 1-3 PM.

If you're interested in signing your child up, you can visit the Little Red Hen Theatre website for an application or call the theatre at 402-287-2818.
