NORFOLK, Neb. -- Norfolk residents and visitors can now access a new tool in the community.

A level 2 electric vehicle charger has been installed at the Norfolk Public Library.

Level 2 charging stations are ideal for when a car will be parked for an extended amount of time.

The cost is $2.00 for the first four hours and $1.00 for every hour after to use the charging station.

"As electric vehicles gradually enter the marketplace, it's important that we are prepared as a community to accommodate their users," said Mayor Josh Moenning.

Electric vehicle chargers can be found at the Nebraska Public Power Department office located on 1200 S. Chestnut Street and on the corner of Norfolk Avenue near the intersection with First Street.
