PIERCE, Neb. -- A crash near Hadar caused significant delays in Pierce County Wednesday night.

Traffic was redirected on Highway 81 at the junction of Highway 13 after the accident.

The Nebraska State Patrol told NCN on the scene that the crash interrupted the flow of traffic for up to two miles around the incident.

The crash happened at approximately 5:00 p.m., with the road opening back up by 8:00 p.m., though officials urged drivers to operate with extreme caution following the re-opening. Many drivers had been diverted toward gravel back roads.

There has been no official word on injuries or damage yet. Nebraska State Patrol Troop B Capt. Dain Hicks said the Pierce County Sheriff's Office is handling the investigation.
