NORFOLK, Neb. -- Right at Home hosts a charity event to celebrate its third anniversary.

On Friday, the Norfolk-based organization provided food, raffle drawings, outdoor activities, and a silent auction to celebrate its third year of providing services to those in need.

Right at Home provides non-medical in-home care for those who wish to continue living independently, but need assistance. Right at Home provides service to Norfolk, Hartington, Neligh, Wayne, Westpoint, and other surrounding areas.

However, Friday's event was not for Right at Home. Instead, the organization is supporting the Faith Regional Foundation Hope Fund.

According to Jeremy Starkel, a part-owner of Right at Home Norfolk, fundraising for others is something they've done every year since they opened. While the recipient of the fundraising will sometimes change, Starkel said the goal is the same: to give back to the community and help those in need.

"Hopefully all that money, dollar for dollar, will then be generated to give to the Faith Regional Foundation Hope Fund to support local cancer patients in their battle," Starkel said. "A lot of those folks who are fighting cancer and going through chemo treatments can't afford things like gas, or lodging or food...so a lot of that stuff is provided (by donations)."

The event will go on until 3 p.m. Friday and donations can be made online through the weekend. Right at Home is also looking for employees and Starke said those interested should call Right at Home to learn about more opportunities.
