NORFOLK, Neb. -- As Norfolk gears up for the 4th of July, it appears some of the city's traffic congestion will be easing up just in time for the holiday weekend.

Construction work is wrapping up on 18th Street from Bel Air Road to Imperial Road and south to the Prospect Hill Cemetery north property line.

According to Norfolk Communications Manager Nick Stevenson, it’s anticipated the roadway will be open to all traffic beginning Wednesday afternoon, June 29.

"Thank you for your patience and cooperation during construction and have a safe holiday weekend," the City said in an email issued Tuesday afternoon.
