At approximately 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Beemer Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a vehicle violation in Beemer, according to BPD.

After further investigation, the driver, 40-year-old Edward J. Schmitz of Stanton, was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine, possession of marijuana less than 1oz, possession of drug paraphernalia, and open alcohol container.
