An annual northeast Nebraska tradition wraps up its 42nd edition on Sunday.
WAYNE, Neb. -- An annual northeast Nebraska tradition wraps up its 42nd edition on Sunday.
The three-day Wayne Chicken Show kicked off on Friday with Henoween, which included a live comedy show for the first time in the festival's history, replacing the usual Friday night concert.
The events first two days also included a parade, fireworks, artwork, and several contests -- including eating competitions, the best "chicken legs", and the popular "cluck off".
The 2022 version of the Wayne Chicken Show was themed "Chicken's Guide to the Galaxy: The Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Egg-rything," taking inspiration from famed author Douglas Adams.
A car show and Wayne County Museum tours are included in Sunday's final day of festivities.
