'The Little Mermaid' coming to Little Red Hen Theatre for next two weekends

WAKEFIELD, Neb. -- A theatre in northeast Nebraska is putting on a special production of a classic Disney movie over the next two weekends. 

The Little Red Hen Theatre in Wakefield will be putting on productions of the Disney movie "The Little Mermaid" from July 15 through the 17 and July 22 to the 24. 

The play is similar to the movie but features a few new songs and a different ending. 

Actors from Wakefield, Wayne, Ponca, and other northeast Nebraska towns make up the cast. 

Adam Goos, the managing director for the Little Red Hen Theatre, said the play is a great family event for all to enjoy. 

"This is a fantastic show," Goos said. "It's a fantastic story for families to watch together. I remember watching the Little Mermaid as a kid and falling in love with the music and having that experience with my family. I encourage people to come see it no matter what but to definitely bring a child." 

The Friday and Saturday performances are at 7 p.m. and the Sunday performance is at 2 p.m. 

Tickets are $11 for adults and $9 for students and senior citizens.
