Omaha woman arrested on drug charges after Stanton County traffic stop
STANTON, Neb. -- A passenger from Omaha is in custody facing drug charges after reportedly being located with meth during a Stanton County traffic stop Thursday afternoon.
At approximately 1:00 p.m., the Stanton County Sheriff's Office stopped a vehicle that was reportedly speeding on Highway 275 north of Stanton.
The 47-year-old driver, an Alabama woman, was cited for speeding, driving during suspension and no valid registration.
According to Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger, the passenger was a 30-year-old pregnant woman from Omaha. The passenger, 30-year-old Amanda Gove of Omaha, was found to have an active Douglas County arrest warrant for failure to appear.
Unger said Gove was arrested and also found to be in possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine.
Gove was booked at the Sheriff’s office on the new drug charges, where she also reportedly tested positive for the illegal drugs and was jailed on a $50,000.00 bond.
