Scooter's Coffee donates check to Wounded Warriors Family Support

OMAHA, Neb. -- Wounded Warriors a shot of support on Thursday, getting a nearly $65,000 check from Scooter's Coffee.

Scooter's Coffee presented a check in donation to Wounded Warriors Family Support Thursday morning in Omaha.

The $64,546 donations comes from Scooter's Coffee allowing its customers the option to add a $1 or more donation to their orders spanning from August 3-12 in connection with Purple Heart Day.

This makes the fifth consecutive year that Scooter's Coffee has supported WWFS in its mission to support and honor military members along with their families.

Representatives from Scooter's Coffee presented the large check to representatives present for Wounded Warriors Family Support.

The donation will help WWFS to continue to help provide valuable resources and healing to combat-wounded veterans and families of veterans wounded, killed in action, or injured. Wounded Warriors Family Support was founded in 2003 by retired John D. Folsom.

During the check presentation, WWFS displayed their new military tribute vehicle which honored the 13 U.S. service members who lost their lives in Afghanistan one year ago. Among those honored was Omaha's hometown hero, Corporal Daegan Page, who died in Afghanistan  at the age of 23 last year.
