NORFOLK, Neb. -- Aquaventure went to the dogs this week.

On Monday, Aquaventure Water Park hosted its first ever Dog Days, and end-of-summer swim for dogs.

With over 110 dogs and 300 people in attendance, organizers said they considered the event a success.

Admission and donations were taken at the gate, and two large crates of pet food, toys and supplies were donated to the Animal Shelter of Northeast Nebraska. The donations also included $300.

AWG supplied food for the event.

PJ Evans from Aquaventure said she was "thrilled" with the turnout, calling it a "great way to end the summer season" at the water park.

The pool was drained Tuesday to get ready to winterize the park.
