A trailer home caught fire Thursday afternoon in Norfolk.
NORFOLK, Neb. -- A trailer home caught fire Thursday afternoon in Norfolk.
Around 4:00 pm, Norfolk Fire and Rescue responded to what they called ‘’a trailer home with smoke coming out of it’’.
Norfolk Fire Chief Tim Wragge told News Channel Nebraska that the resident of the home was not there when the fire initially started but was on scene eventually.
Wragge also said first responders were able to recover a pet that was inside the home at the time of the blaze.
The fire was put out when News Channel Nebraska was on scene. There is no official cause of the fire yet, and it currently remains under investigation.
It took approximately 17 firefighters and five rigs about 22 minutes to control the fire and another 60 minutes to overhaul the structure, according to Norfolk Fire Capt. Scott Bonsall.
The value of the residence is unknown, but Bonsall said the structure and contents sustained significant damage.
No one was injured during the incident.
The Norfolk Police Division, NPPD and Black Hills Energy assisted on scene.
