NORFOLK, Neb. -- The 10th annual Oktoberfest festival was in its second and last day on Saturday in downtown Norfolk.

The festival highlights the area’s German heritage and the fall harvest. Oktoberfest features activities like live music, a beer garden, German food, and much more. On Saturday night, the event will feature a live showing of Husker volleyball taking on Ohio State.

Austen Hagood, Norfolk Area Chamber President, said the event not only attracts people from the Norfolk area but also from places around northeast Nebraska as well.

"It has become a cornerstone event for the community," Hagood said. "We get all kinds of people that come out. It's a great gathering place. Good music. Good food. Good fun."

Oktoberfest will run until around 1:00 a.m. with the Norfolk Area Transit offering free rides home to anybody who needs one.
