OMAHA, Neb. -- Food trucks and foodies came together to raise money for immigration services on Sunday.

Immigrant Legal Center hosted the 8th annual Food Truck World Tour in Omaha to raise funding to support immigrant legal services for low-income families in Nebraska and southwest Iowa.

Guests could sample food from around the globe, including local food trucks with cuisines from Thailand, Italy, Mexico, Venezuela, Africa, the United States and more.

Jason Carpenter, who selected tacos as his meal of choice, said he was happy to support the reason for the event.

"We're here eating food, and it's going to a good cause," Carpenter said.

There were also musical guests, balloon artists, face painting and more. The musical performances included bagpipes and mariachi, among others. There were also Kung Fu demonstrations.

“The need for high-quality immigration legal services is critical,” said Erik Omar, Executive Director of ILC. “Over the last year, Omaha has welcomed more people fleeing violence and war, including many from Afghanistan and Ukraine. The Food Truck World Tour allows our dedicated legal and social work teams to provide the support immigrants and their families need to live with confidence and free from fear.”

The event was held at Stinson Park in Aksarben Village.
