Norfolk Water Pollution Control honored for work
The Norfolk Water Pollution Control Plant was recognized for its work at the annual Nebraska Water Environment Association fall conference earlier this month.

NORFOLK, Neb. -- The Norfolk Water Pollution Control (WPC) Plant was recognized for its work at the annual Nebraska Water Environment Association (NWEA) fall conference earlier November.
The WPC Plant received the Scott Wilber Award – Best in Class Medium Size Facility. The award is given for outstanding operations and maintenance of a wastewater treatment facility.
Norfolk WPC was also honored for its safety practices receiving the Gold Safety Award for excellence in accident prevention and a safety program that includes training, materials, and the participation of all employees.
The WPC Plant was presented the Water Environment Federation George W. Burke, Jr. Safety Award as well. This award recognizes the top municipal or industrial wastewater facility in the state for establishing and maintaining an active and effective safety program.
“The awards show the commitment Norfolk WPC staff has to safety and a well-maintained operation at the Norfolk Wastewater Treatment Plant,” said Rob Huntley WPC Superintendent.
