The Nebraska Department of Transportation is reporting closures on four different highways Tuesday morning.
It's a similar situation for U.S. Highway 83 from the South Dakota border down to almost North Platte, a stretch of about 125 miles. The stretch of road is now closed, as are state highways throughout central Nebraska.

Nebraska Highway 2 is also closed from Broken Bow to west of Thedford. Other closures include Nebraska Highway 25 south of Sutherland, Nebraska Highway 97 between Ringgold and North Platte, and another stretch of 97 between Valentine and north of Mullen.
Another east-west highway that is shut down is Nebraska Route 92 from Merna west to Tryon.
The region continues to get hammered with snowfall. Reports out of western Holt County indicate over 16 inches of snow by early morning, with another four to eight inches possible throughout Tuesday.
