A survey capturing what Norfolk residents would like in the downtown area has released its findings.
NORFOLK, Neb. -- The city of Norfolk has published its findings of the downtown management plan online survey.
The volunteer survey was open to the public from October 3 to November 17, of last year; with the goal to gather information on what residents wanted to see in the future. The survey collected 714 responses, with a majority of the respondents being 25-49 years old.
Some key findings of the survey found that 59% of respondents visit the downtown area at least once a week, with 66% of respondents going to eat at a restaurant or bar. A large majority of 79% of respondents indicated they'd like to see better parking and lighting in the area. When it comes to future services desired, 83% said they would like to see underutilized or empty storefronts filled in.
