Standoff in Lyons leads to arrest

LYONS, Neb. --The Nebraska State Patrol SWAT Team was involved in a standoff in Lyons that led to an arrest on Saturday.
Officials said the Burt County Sheriff’s Office and Lyons Police Department were dispatched to 100 State St. in Lyons at 5:20 p.m. on Saturday. The home was reportedly armed and barricaded.
According to authorities, a domestic disturbance that was being investigated by BCSO led to the standoff. The NSP SWAT Team arrived to help with the situation after hours of attempted negotiations with the person inside had reportedly failed.
NSP said they entered the home at midnight. They were reportedly able to take the man into custody with no other issues.
Officers said the man that was arrested was 61-year-old Chris Garrett. He was arrested for making terroristic threats and has additional charges that are pending with the BCSO. Garrett was lodged in Burt County Jail.
