NORFOLK, Neb. -- Norfolk Police said they were called to an apartment on a report of a disturbance.

Officials said around 11:00 p.m., they were called to an apartment in the 1100 block of Keonigstein when they had contact with a man.

According to authorities, the man told them that he had just met the suspect, a 34-year-old woman, and had invited her to his apartment.

NPD said due to her behavior, the man asked her to leave. The suspect then became upset and started damaging the apartment.

Officials said when they went inside and had contact with her, she appeared to the officers to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

NPD said at this time, the suspect walked over to the man and shoved him with both of her arms, forcing him to fall backward onto a couch.

According to authorities, she was then restrained by officers and arrested for third-degree assault.

NPD said she was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
