Norfolk Rotary Club announces concert series lineup
The Norfolk Rotary Club announced its twelfth season of hosting the Music in the Park concert series.
NORFOLK, Neb. -- The Norfolk Rotary Club announced its twelfth season of hosting the Music in the Park concert series.
Omaha Cover Girls will start off the series on June 22, with a show consisting of a mix of classic rock, country, pop, Christian, and a few ballads. Officials said they are considered Omaha’s most experienced and polished women in regional bands today. The OCG will have an interactive show with their 7-piece band that is made up of musicians from the High Heel and ECKO bands.
Southern Nights will perform July 6, and specialize in boogie-guitar songs and bluesy-rock attitudes. Officials said this band from Omaha pays tribute to artists like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Brothers Band, .38 Special, Marshal Tucker Band, and many others.
On July 20, the Heartland Boogie Band will perform cover songs from the '70s through today. They perform over 50 #1 hits and is made up of nine members.
Taxi Driver will be performing on August 3. Taxi Driver is a band of six musicians and vocalists that play oldies, classic rock, motown, country, dance, and modern hip hop. Officials said this band won the Best of Omaha Award in both 2022 and 2023.
These free concerts will be held at Skyview Park in Norfolk on Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 9:30 pm. Bring your chairs and blankets.
The Norfolk Rotary Club said they ask for donations from sponsors prior to the concerts and will have a free-will collection during an intermission at each concert. After expenses, proceeds go to helping with needs within the Norfolk community.
