Bond doubled for former Winside teacher facing felony sexual abuse charges

The judge Monday morning decided to double the bond to $40,000.

WINSIDE, Neb. -- Former Winside teacher Cali Heikes, 25, appeared in court Monday morning at the Wayne County Courthouse facing three felonies related to the sexual abuse of a Winside student.

Earlier this month a motion to revoke bond was filed after a letter surfaced written by Heikes to the alleged victim.

The judge Monday morning decided to double the bond to $40,000.

Heikes is due back in court for a pre-trial hearing April 24, 10:30 a.m.
