NORFOLK, Neb. -- Authorities said that a 17-year-old was held in a juvenile detention center after crashing into a parked car in Norfolk, and was arrested for a DUI on Saturday.
The Norfolk Police Division said that around 4:18 a.m. Saturday morning, they were called to a two-vehicle accident in the 400 block of W. Bluff Ave.
The vehicle driven by the 17-year-old male had hit a parked car.
Police said they asked the teen to do a field sobriety test, but he was non-compliant with completing them.
NPD said that the teen was handcuffed and put into the back seat of the police cruiser.
While police were taking him to the jail, NPD said that the teen started to hit his head on the plexiglass divider in the police cruiser.
According to the Norfolk PD, the officer stopped the car to check on the teen, and once the door was opened, the teen kicked the officer, spit in his face and headbutted him.
Authorities said that once they got the teen to the jail, he refused to walk into the jail, or submit to a preliminary breath test.
The 17-year-old was arrested for a first-offense driving under the influence of alcohol, obstructing a peace officer, third-degree assault on a peace officer, assault on an officer with bodily fluids and reckless driving.
The teen was held in the Madison County Juvenile Detention Center.
