South Dakota man arrested in Boyd County for alleged abduction

A man from South Dakota was arrested in Boyd County after he allegedly abducted a woman.

SPENCER, Neb. -- A man from South Dakota was arrested in Boyd County after he allegedly abducted a woman.

The Boyd County Sheriff's Office said they were notified on Saturday that there was a possible forced abduction coming from Wagner, S. D.

Officials said the suspect was going south on Highway 281. The vehicle reportedly ran out of gas near mile marker 223, almost a mile and a half into Nebraska. The highway was temporarily shut down at this time.

According to authorities, they were able to safely get to the victim, a 23-year-old woman from South Dakota. The suspect, a 25-year-old man from South Dakota, was taken into custody for first-degree false imprisonment.

BCSO said they were helped by the Holt County Sheriff's Office, Gregory County Sheriff's Office, and the Nebraska State Patrol.
