Compliance checks conducted in multiple counties

NEBRASKA -- The Nebraska State Patrol performed several alcohol and tobacco compliance checks in different counties across the state.
Officials said businesses in Antelope, Boyd, Holt, Knox, and Pierce Counties had compliance checks done during March and April. NSP reported checking 85 businesses in the northeast area, nine of which ended up selling tobacco to someone that was under 21-years-old.
According to authorities, compliance checks were held in Dawson County on April 5. They checked 10 businesses and six of them sold alcohol to a minor. All of the businesses had checked the minor's ID.
NSP said they were in Scotts Bluff County on April 15 for compliance checks. Of the 18 businesses checked, none of them sold alcohol to a minor and they all checked the minor's ID.
Officials said the businesses that sold sell tobacco or alcohol to a minor were cited and referred to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission. The businesses that were checked were convenience stores, restaurants, liquor stores, and bars.
