Madison County Sheriff warns public about scams

Another phone scam is targeting northeast Nebraskans.

MADISON, Neb. -- Another phone scam is targeting northeast Nebraskans.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office is warning residents about scammers pretending to be law enforcement.

MCSO said citizens are receiving calls saying they have warrants and need to pay the county with prepaid cards.

This is a scam, the sheriff's office said they will never ask for money and not to fall for the scam.

If anyone has questions, MCSO said to contact their office.
